One country,the USA, always able to get their way. Sure enough BL had to be prosecuted,BUT was the killing of Osama bin Laden legal under international law?

The administration says yes, absolutely. Experts are unsure.

Attorney General Eric Holder told members of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday that the U.S. raid on bin Laden’s compound was lawful “as an act of national self-defense.”

Bin Laden “was the head of al Qaeda, an organization that had conducted the attacks of September the 11th,” Holder said. “It’s lawful to target an enemy commander in the field.”

The raid “was conducted in a manner fully consistent with the laws of war,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. Carney declined to offer specifics, but said “there is simply no question that this operation was lawful. … (Bin Laden) had continued to plot attacks against the United States.”

Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama had all issued orders to kill or capture the al Qaeda leader.

President Obama and first lady

At 12:00 eastern time, Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America, undoubtedly the super power of the world… with a super hero leader.

“The Moment” as it has been dubbed was perfect, except for Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr fumbling of the administration of the oath of office, a clearly startled Obama corrected the Chief Justice, all else went smoothly.

I am particularly impressed with MicroSoft’s photosynth technology that allows the viewer (granted you have Silverlight installed) the option to zoom in or out and change angles of the thousands of photo’s of a single moment.

It truly is amazing technology, CNN has incorporated this technology for obama’s inauguration and this is the brilliant result !

Well done President Obama…well done CNN for great coverage and yes, well done to MicroSoft, for a great piece of software.

I thought I was in high school, but that was high school, being picked for the soccer team was romanticized back then. Why do men find it so hard to love, women do it in a heart beat, but us… We are more likely to catch an aerial disease than admit to being hit by the L bomb.

Through out my romantic “career” the recurring motif is that I am sweet and caring,  so why is it so hard for me to find love. Women keep going on and on about finding Mr Right when he is, in fact, looking her dead in the eye in the form of a “friend” and when he is taken she resents the girl who took “him” away from her.  Something like this has happened to me first hand. The girl I used to pine after in high school like a sick puppy is only now discovering thing I am dating material, problem is i have control over my hormones now and I don’t give a flying f…duck.

I guess we don’t fall in love because we are conditioned to harden our hearts from the early days, usually by the opposite sex, and women wonder why we are the way we are.

Broketed Harts

With restriction of terestrial boundries, could there be a way to share energy between nieghboring countries of varying energy levels, hmmmm ? As with server within the I.T world can there be “energy dams” that collect power from multiple sources and redistribute it amongst those places that need it the most at a specific time? We have proved that energy can be sucked out of almost anything… even a lemon, so logically it should be possible to find a sustainable method of extracting power from growing, organic matter, I …think.

Millions of dollars are ploughed into arms deals and war, that same money could implement the creation of gardens of solar panels in deserts where the collected solar energy could power an impressive amount of, errmm, lightbulbs, and the cloud like destribution would ease the strain on govermental power sources across neighboring countries… just maybe.

Here are just a few characters you might just come across in this beautifully crazy country…

The taxi driver: No nonsense zulu man who wears a spotty (sunhat) and always has one arm dangling out of the taxi, usually a Toyota Hi Ace.

The corner shop owner: This is an Indian who has been living here for longer than he can remember, but he still sounds like he just walked out of a Bollywood block buster. Usually wear a colourful loose T-shirt and a moustche.

The tsotsi: This is the South African version of a gangsta, this is the baddest MOFO you will met. Like the taxi driver, he will often be spotted wearing a spotty (sun hat), a rosary, Converse Allstars and a mean mug, we call them die hards.

The BEE brutha: This is the newly rich black dude, he has a black BMW or Merc, always wears huge waterski-like formal shoes, glasses on his forehead and will always refer to you as chief.

and

The kasi(township) school kid: Wise beyond thier years, they can organise a better party than the Queen of herself, there mass actions have altered the history of this country. They are the bravest, whole-hearted people you will ever meet and the will con the living day lights out of you.
